Tom Lahiff (1932-1954)

Tom Lahiff of Whitemount, Kilnaboy, is remembered as a talented young flute player and dancer whose life ended far too soon at the age of just 22. Though his years were few, his musicality and spirit made a lasting mark on those around him.

He was described by Jimmy O’Donoghue as a “great flute player” and a “great dancer”, someone whose presence at local gatherings brought life and energy to the room.

Tom’s legacy lives on through the memories of family and community, and notably through his nephew, Noel O’Donoghue, himself a well-known flute player.
