JJ Regan (born 1946)

JJ Regan was born in 1946 and has spent his life in Russa, near Cahersherkin, Co. Clare. A talented fiddle player, JJ is known not only for his skill and knowledge of the tradition, but also for his quiet, modest nature.

Music runs in the family. JJ’s uncle was Thomas Beakey,  was a highly respected fiddle player in the area, and JJ himself has long been admired for his playing. He is also a farmer, and still lives in the house where he was born and raised, maintaining a deep connection to the land and community around him.

JJ has long been close friends with Paddy ‘Organ’ Mullins and the Mullins family, who lived nearby and shared his love of traditional music.
