Charlotte Seoige (née O’Donoghue) (born 1947)

Charlotte Seoige (née O’Donoghue), born in 1947, comes from the well-known O’Donoghue family of Larakea, near Kilfenora, Co. Clare — a family deeply rooted in the local traditional music scene.

Charlotte grew up surrounded by music. The O’Donoghues were part of the Golden Star Céilí Band, a group made up of strong local musicians who contributed significantly to the musical life of North Clare.

Charlotte became a talented fiddle player, carrying on the musical tradition of her family. She later moved to Dublin, where she now lives, and continues to have strong ties to traditional music. Her passion for music was also passed on to her children, who now play as well, continuing the O’Donoghue musical legacy into the next generation.
