Bridget ‘Terry’ McNamara (née McMahon) (1911-1996)

Bridget ‘Terry’ McNamara (née McMahon) was born in 1911 in Drumnacreehy, near Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare. She was a member of the ‘Terry’ McMahon family, known locally for their strong musical traditions.

Bridget was the sister of Paddy ‘Terry’ McMahon (flute), Gerry ‘Terry’ McMahon (fiddle and whistle), and Mary Kate ‘Terry’ McMahon (fiddle). 

She later married and became Bridget McNamara, settling in the Kilfenora area. Bridget lived through times of great change in rural Clare and remained closely connected to her family roots in Drumnacreehy.

She passed away in 1996.
