Mary Kate ‘Terry’ McMahon (1909-1988)

Mary Kate ‘Terry’ McMahon was born in 1908 in Drumnacreehy and was part of a well-known musical family. She played the fiddle.

Mary Kate was the sister of Paddy ‘Terry’ McMahon, a flute player, Gerry ‘Terry’ McMahon, who played both fiddle and whistle and Bridget ‘Terry’ McNamara (née McMahon). Together, the three siblings upheld the musical heritage of their area, contributing to the local tradition through informal playing and community gatherings.

She passed away in 1988.
