Martin Tierney
Martin Tierney was a fiddle player from Lickeen, near Kilfenora, and part of a well-regarded musical family whose roots in North Clare traditional music run deep. He was the uncle of fiddle player Paddy Tierney, another traditional musician.
Martin belonged to a branch of the Tierney family noted not only for their musical ability but for their extensive knowledge of Kilfenora music and musicians, as documented by Hughes & Ó Rócháin (1978).
