Jimmy McGrath (1924-2002)

Jimmy McGrath of Willbrook was a respected farmer and flute player, known for his gentle nature and deep connection to traditional Irish music. He lived and worked alongside his brother John Joe McGrath, who was also a flute player and a skilled lilter. Together, they were a musical pair whose love of music quietly enriched their community.

The McGrath brothers were known as kind, honest, and modest people—“nice and quiet,” as many recall them. They shared a strong bond, not only through music but also through their work. They ran a farm together, milking cows and tending to the land side by side for many years. Jimmy was married and had one son.
