Golden Star Ceilí Band – Kilrush Fleadh 1965

This recording captures the Golden Star Céilí Band performing a lively set of jigs followed by reels at the Kilrush Fleadh in 1965. It was kindly given to me by Ray O’Donoghue, who is a member of the band.

The Golden Star Céilí Band was a well-regarded group active in Clare during the 1950s and 60s. Made up of local musicians, the band played regularly at dances, competitions, and fleadhanna across the country.
